The Tallahassee state Attorney General Bill McCollum is very busy these days because of two timeshare resale companies who have been victimizing people who are on the process of reselling their timeshare properties.

The companies are Universal Marketing Solutions and Creative Vacation Solutions. These two companies are related. The companies have collected over $4 million for advertising and marketing fees every month from the consumers. However, they have never marketed, processed the timeshare resale, and never even advertised the sale.

According to the investigation done by the Economic Crimes Division of the Attorney General’s office, Jennifer Kirk, the owner of the 2 companies charged $2,500 for marketing and advertising every month. The 2 companies have several clients nationwide. They connect with them through internet and phone lines. The companies were the ones who contacted several timeshare owners and offered them their services.

What the two companies do is to explain to the consumers their marketing tools like marketing events, seminars, and presentations they organized to educate people and in the end make them buy the timeshares for resale. The companies assured their customers that they would be able to sell their timeshare properties. The companies charged customers without even giving them a contract or any legal paper.

Months after not getting any results, the clients of the two companies filed complaints against the company. After asking for refunds, the clients were not able to contact the companies anymore. According the Attorney General, there could be more than 400 victims of the scams, after receiving 10 complaints everyday against the two companies.

The Attorney General’s Office is currently investigating on the matter. Attorney General McCollum assures the clients that after they have caught Jennifer Kirk and her two companies, the clients would get reimbursements for the fees they made, plus compensation for being victimized. The companies will also be punished by the law and pay more fees as penalty to what they did.
